Get ready to join SSALA members from around the state in November for the Fall Expo 2018. This year’s event will be held at the Crowne Plaza Baton Rouge, and we couldn’t be more excited! Among our guest speakers will be national speakers Jeffery Greenberger, attorney, and Magen Smith, the Storage CPA. This is sure to be one of the best conferences in recent years and guaranteed to pack a lot of bang for the buck. We will see you there!

Let SSALA know about events at your facility

We are encouraging members to let us know about events that are happening at your facility or in your community. Opening a new facility – let us know and we will post an article about it on our news feed. Have a manager that was recognized within your company or in your community – let us know and we will join in celebrating their accomplishment. Call or email your submission, and we will let all our association members know about your news. One more way SSALA is working to connect self storage owners/operators/managers across the great state of Louisiana.

Fall Expo 2017 a great success!!!

The SSALA Fall Expo 2017 was a great success, with more in attendance than ever! New Officers were introduced, including new SSALA President Sean Landry, Vice-President Lonnie Bickford, Secretary Ben Evans, and Treasurer Shaun Ferguson. Our guest speakers, Anne Ballard and Scott Zucker, gave extremely well received presentations, and we thank them for joining us in Baton Rouge!

Hurricane Harvey relief efforts

The SSALA Board sends its heartfelt concerns to our fellow self storage operators and citizens in south Texas. After the historic flooding last year in the Shreveport/Bossier City areas of north Louisiana and in Baton Rouge, we have been there and know what you are going thru. That’s why so many people of our “Cajun Navy” are in Houston now – giving back the help that was given them last year.

Please  text HARVEY to 90999 to donate $10 through the American Red Cross.

Fall Expo 2017 speakers

We are also extremely excite to have Natalie Bragg speak on understanding Millennials in the work place. This is a very enlightening presentation that promises to help you understand how to attract, AND retain, a younger staff. We’ll see you there!

SSALA Expo 2016 a HUGE Success!

img_1889img_1905 img_1909 img_1913The Fall Expo 2016 was a huge success! There were a record number of attendees, more first time attendees, and more vendors than ever! Ann Parham and Scott Zucker, our featured speakers, delivered great insight and advise during their presentations, and the SSALA received positive reviews on all our other speakers, as well. We thank all of our Gold level vendor sponsors for their help in keeping these events affordable!

A Special thanks go out to Wanda Cox, our Executive Director, who made this whole convention possible, while standing in 2 feet of water in her flooded Baton Rouge facility. We could not have down this without her heroic efforts!!
